An In Vitro Study to Evaluate the Effect of Artificial Aging on Translucency, Contrast Ratio, and Color of Zirconia Dental Ceramic at Different Sintering Levels

Increasing demands for aesthetically pleasing dental restorations have promoted the use of materials that display superior optical properties. Zirconia-based all-ceramic systems good properties, thus providing desired esthetics restorations. The altered oral conditions impact physical properties these materials. Multiple studies been conducted to evaluate effect aging on mechanical computerized-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM)-based zirconia; however, there is a scarcity literature discussing change in translucency, contrast ratio, color. Therefore, this research aimed accelerated artificial translucency parameter (TP), ratio (CR), color CAD/CAM zirconia at different sintering temperatures. Twenty-eight rectangular-shaped specimens were obtained by milling blank. Sintering samples was carried out four temperatures 1350 °C, 1400 1450 1500 respectively. Thermocycling performed thermocycler. TP, CR, evaluation all done again using Spectrophotometer. Data acquired statistically evaluated one-way ANOVA Post Hoc test. highest amount TP recorded sintered °C (1.86), whereas least attributed (0.51). CR observed (0.0971), (0.0086). ΔE values against both white (1.86) black background (2.17), (0.86) (1.41). changes significant, but did not show any significant change. experimental groups below clinically perceptible range. An increase temperature increased translucency.
